November 1, 2023

Dear Members and Friends of Oakwood Church,

This year we will be celebrating our Consecration Sunday service on November 19.  We invite you to plan now to make it a priority to attend! This is a special time to celebrate and give thanks for the work God is doing and is going to do in our lives. Our worship service will be at the normal time of 10:00am, led by Pastor Jeffrey Hough of Angel Community Church in Muskegon, and will include a meal around 11:30am.

Consecration Sunday is designed to be a biblical, spiritual, and inspirational experience that enriches our understanding of Christian stewardship. It is not built on the “need of the church to receive,” but on the “need of the giver to give” as a part of his or her own spiritual development and Christian commitment.

We encourage you to pray and seek God’s will in the coming weeks concerning the resources with which He has blessed you. Then as God has led you, we will ask you during the service on November 19 to fill out an “Estimate of Giving Card” with the amount you are planning to give to Oakwood Church in 2024. It is this estimate that will be used by the Finance Team to determine our budget for 2024. We hope that you will be a part of this powerful, faith-strengthening worship experience.

If you are unable to attend in-person on Consecration Sunday, you will be able to fill out your Estimate of Giving online that day at www.oakwoodcrc.org/consecration.

Questions can be referred to a member of council or the finance team.
